It’s getting to be that time of the year where final exams are finishing and everyone is gearing up to party down. While it can be tempting to go wild and cut loose, we’ve got 5 reasons why you need to take it easy and stay in this weekend.
1: Sleep is Good for You
Sleep doesn’t just feel good. Sleep is critical for a healthy body and brain. People who get the proper amount of sleep have been shown to have a better memory, be more creative, and experience less pain overall. Of course, they’re also less tired! Skip the club this weekend and get yourself a good night’s sleep.
2: Your Resume Needs Work
Let’s be honest, it’s been a little while since you’ve looked at your resume, hasn’t it? Well, instead of going crazy on a Saturday night or nursing a hangover Sunday morning, why not take a little bit of time to look over your resume and make sure everything is up to date. After all, if you don’t have a strong resume there’s no way you’re going to land an interview!
3: You Need to Save Money
You probably know this already, but going out can get expensive. Not only do you have to pay for your drinks (if you’re of legal drinking age), but there’s also cab fare and late-night snack purchases, which can add up quickly. Do your bank account a favor and take a break this weekend.
4: Internships Won’t Land Themselves
The semester might be winding down, but summer is just around the corner. If you haven’t secured an internship for yourself in a field you are interested in exploring, you might be better off doing a little research this weekend instead of partying hard with your friends. Your time would be put to much better use checking out companies and applying to jobs instead of perfecting your flip-cup game, especially if you’ve already updated your resume.
5: You’ve Got a Big Week Ahead of You
Instead of going out and tearing up and expending energy, it would be wise to take the weekend to rest and relax and build up energy to prepare you for the week ahead. Whether you’re on the job search, looking to land an internship, or gainfully employed, it’s always a good thing get some R&R to prepare you for the week ahead.
Nobody likes a wet blanket, but that doesn’t mean you need to be a party animal 24/7. Stay in this weekend to take some time for yourself and your job search.
